Five Terrifying Hikes
1. Hua Shan Plank Walk
Hua Shan is a mountain in China that has always held religious significance for Daoists. The mountain is located in Shannxi province near the town of Huayin. The trail consists of narrow planks and chains along the mountainside and steep steps and ladders. Anyone who attempts this hike must be crazy! If you are brave enough, watch this video. |
2. Half Dome
Half Dome is a mountain in Yosemite Park in Mariposa County in California. There are several routes up the mountain, but the cable trail rises 4800 feet from the valley floor. 3. Trift Bridge
Trift Bridge is a suspension bridge in the Swiss Alps. It is near Gadmen, Switzerland. Are you brave enough to walk across a shaky bridge high above the lake? Don't look down! Take a virtual walk across the bridge here. |
4. El Caminito del Rey Trail
This trail was originally built so that workers could cross between two hydroelectric power plants. It is located near the town of Alora in the province of Malaga, Spain.
