Five Volleyball Terms
Volleyball is an exciting sport that can be played on grass, indoors, and on sand courts. The ball can be touched three times on each side before sending it across the net. To learn more about the rules of volleyball, click here.
1. Spike

2. Block
A block is when you stretch your arms up at the net and try to prevent the ball from coming over to your team's side of the court.

3. Dig
A dig is when a player prevents a spike from hitting the court.

4. Set
A set is when the ball is pushed in the air and positioned in front of a player so they can hit it. To learn how to set, click here. To see a setter in action, click here. |
5. Pancake
A pancake is when a player places his or her hand flat on the floor, palm down, and the ball bounces off of it into the air. To learn how to pancake, click here. |
